Mulberry Silk Pillowcases vs Blissy: which silk pillowcase is right for you?
Blissy built the category's biggest brand. We built ours around a heavier silk and no closure hardware at all. Here is the full comparison — including the places where Blissy is genuinely the better choice.

| Specification | Mulberry Silk Pillowcases | Blissy | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Momme weight | 25 momme | 22 momme | Higher momme means a denser weave, a more substantial hand-feel, and more material to wear through over years of washing. |
| Silk grade | 6A | 6A | Both state the top fibre grade. Long-strand 6A resists pilling and slubs. |
| Fibre content | 100% mulberry silk | 100% pure mulberry silk | Rules out "satin" polyester cases marketed as silk. |
| Weave | Charmeuse | Satin weave silk | Glossy face, matte reverse — a genuine silk weave has both. |
| Closure | None — no zipper, no seams | ✓ Hidden zipper | A zipper is the one part that can seize, snag or corrode. It is also usually polyester, so the closure is not silk. We left it off. |
| Size options | Standard only (20" × 30") | Regular, Queen, King | We make one size, which fits the pillow most people already own. Blissy covers more pillows — if yours is a queen or a king, that matters. |
| Colour options | 8 shades | Roughly 30 shades | Blissy wins this row outright. If you're matching a room, that range matters. |
| Certifications | Documentation on request | OEKO-TEX® certified | A published certificate number is worth more than a badge image. Ask either brand to show it. |
| Care | Machine wash cold in mesh bag | Machine washable | Hand-wash-only silk rarely gets washed, and rarely lasts. |
| Return window | 60 nights | 60 days from purchase | Both give you two months. The details that differ are who pays return shipping and what condition is accepted. |
| Sold as | One product, one size — no bundles | Single cases and multi-piece sets | Bundles can lower the price per item, but they also hide margin. We sell one thing at one price. |
| Price — Standard | $79 | $105.95 list | Blissy is frequently discounted, so compare the price you're actually quoted, not the list price. |
| Made in | Not published here — ask us | Not published on their product pages | Sourcing transparency is increasingly a purchase driver, and neither of us leads with it. Both should do better. |

Mulberry Silk Pillowcases vs Blissy — FAQ
Is a 25-momme pillowcase actually better than 22 momme?
Not universally — heavier isn't automatically better, it's different. 25 momme gives a denser, more substantial feel and typically wears more slowly through repeated washing. 22 momme feels lighter and slightly cooler. For most sleepers either is excellent; if you wash frequently or want the longest service life, the heavier weave wins.
Why doesn't Mulberry Silk Pillowcases use a zipper like Blissy does?
Because a zipper is the only component on a pillowcase that can fail, and it fails in a place you notice: against your face. The teeth catch hair, the tape is usually polyester rather than silk, and detergent, heat and fabric softener slowly attack the mechanism. When a slider seizes, the pillowcase is finished. Blissy's zipper is well executed and sits inside a folded seam — it is a reasonable choice, and it is simply not the one we made. We removed the closure and the seams instead. Our full reasoning
Is Blissy worth the price?
They built a genuinely good product and charge a premium for brand recognition and a much wider colour range. If matching a colour scheme or buying from a long-established name matters to you, that premium is doing real work. If you're optimising for momme per dollar, there are stronger options — including ours.
